What you’ll learn

LO1 — Assess adult hydration and fluid status using history, examination, vital signs, intake/output, weight, laboratory results and trends.

About this module

MOD-008 is module 3 of 5 in 1.2 Health Assessment & Basic Clinical Skills, inside Domain 1: Nursing Fundamentals & Clinical Essentials.

Adult fluid/electrolyte assessment, fluid-balance monitoring, peripheral IV fluid therapy, recognition of common electrolyte disturbances and safe escalation. This module does not authorize independent prescribing, central-line insertion, IV electrolyte compounding or management beyond local scope. Prescriptions, compatibility, infusion rates, electrolyte replacement protocols, vascular-access policy and GCC/employer procedures take precedence.

The course runs the full NMS competency journey: a diagnostic that maps your starting point, 21 illustrated lessons built from the approved course pack, 2 branching clinical scenarios, a digital simulation, quick-reference and flashcard revision, and a 41-question summative assessment at an 80% pass mark.

Audience: Internationally educated registered nurses preparing for GCC clinical practice and licensure.
