What you’ll learn

LO1 — Identify intrinsic, treatment-related and environmental fall risks and apply universal plus individualized fall-prevention interventions across the care journey.
LO2 — Perform post-fall assessment and escalation, recognize injury/deterioration, preserve patient dignity, document objectively and contribute to learning from the event.
LO3 — Explain when an intervention may constitute restraint and apply least-restrictive, rights-based principles, alternatives, monitoring and discontinuation according to local policy.
LO4 — Detect and correct environmental hazards involving beds, floors, lighting, equipment, tubing, bathrooms, mobility aids, oxygen/electrical systems and emergency access.
LO5 — Integrate fall, restraint and environmental safety with GCC cultural, multilingual, patient/family-engagement and employer-specific governance requirements.

About this module

MOD-005 is module 5 of 5 in 1.1 Patient Safety & Infection Control, inside Domain 1: Nursing Fundamentals & Clinical Essentials.

Digital knowledge and clinical-reasoning training. Facility fall-risk tools, restraint definitions/orders/monitoring, emergency procedures and environmental-safety policies always take precedence.
